"The 3 sisters" is an ancient Native American crop that was domesticated over 5000 years ago.
In the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer I learnt about the similarity between how this plants grow and how sisters grow in a family.
From a permaculture point of view, these 3 plants grow very well together:
• the corn grows tall to give a structural support to the beans
• the beans nourish the soil with nitrogen
• the squash protects the soil from the excess of sun & unwanted weeds
Corn = 1° sister
Bean = 2° sister
Squash = 3° sister
... They behave like in families, right?!
It was an eye-opening consideration to me! Watch the video to understand it better!
It's a pleasure to host together with Samyama the first Sustainable Yoga Immersion in Ibiza on February 3 &4 with Brea Johnson. Learn more about the workshop.
Have you ever tried to lay naked in the sun? Every time I do it, nudism has helped me connect to nature. Free practice included.
They might be great for outdoor and aquatic activities, but don't think you're going barefoot if you are using Lunasandals. Watch my honest, non-party review & comparison with Vivobarefoot shoes.
I love them because they are battery free speakers, they have a slick design and they are sustainably Made in Europe.
There are a lot of organic body wash and eco-friendly soap options today, so how do you choose? How do you know what is the best for your skin (and the Planet)?
If it was not super easy... I would not do it! This is my favorite DIY recipe for a natural deodorant that lasts.
